What I would like from participants is a commitment to only miss one (or at the most two) classes, to meet needs for community, trust and safety. I hope this will facilitate our learning and our mutual enjoyment. I request that participants come to class prepared with the chapter read, exercises completed, and their learning needs identified so we can spend our time fruitfully sharing and growing, and celebrating that growth.

For the first class, please read chapters 1 and 2 in Nonviolent Communication (2nd edition), and complete the corresponding exercises in Nonviolent Communication Companion Workbook by Lucy Leu, pages 57-60 and 65 to top of 67. I will ask you to share (if you are willing) the reading or the exercise that was the most transformative for you.

For information on buying the book and the workbook, please call Debbie Grieb at 882-3460. There is a copy of each book available to borrow from the Moscow Public Library.

Because I am adding more material and running the class for 10 instead of 12 weeks, I am wondering if it would meet our needs for learning and time and ease (plus other needs?) if we met from 7-9:15pm. We’ll talk about it on the first night.

When I think of facilitating this class, I feel very excited and satisfied, meeting my needs for community, contribution, growth, challenge and meaningful work.

In peace,
Veronica Lassen
